Find Those Potatoes or my Vegetable Bin Makeover

Potatoes enjoy being stored in a dry, dark place. But they are also easily forgotten until you later find them in the back of the pantry growing the latest science experiment.

When I spotted this really old vegetable bin, I quickly grabbed slowly lugged it back to the car. It became my next makeover.

Sew On & Sew Forth

You know I love a good flea-to-fab makeover. What you might not know about me is that I also sew. My Mom taught me when I was six years old. She bought me one of those mini metal singer machines–the perfect size to create doll clothes.

OMG! Blog post update: My Mom just gave me a batch of old photos, and look what I found, a photo of me sewing on the mini sewing machine just as I remember. Even though this is a b&w photo, believe me, it was a beautiful bright red.

Tiered Metal Kitchen Cart Makeover

Isn’t this a gem? Maybe not yet, but it does have great potential. Yes, I saw this cart’s future, and it was good. Except for the rust and dirt, the cart was in good shape and has two handles, one on each side–that’s a plus. Let’s see what a little scrubbing, painting and stenciling can do!

Take a Seat: Industrial Chair Makeover

20160414_141310

I’m really trying to create functional furniture with my flea market find transformations. The $30 desk secretary I bought at a flea market, from the original owner’s daughter, is one of my favorite makeovers. You can find the details and tutorial on my post, “Desk Secretary Gets Promotion” here.

As useful as the desk is, it needed a chair. Cue the $5 industrial chair which I picked up in a warehouse sale. The metal chair was in good shape, however, the cushion would need recovering. 20160402_144752
